Bill, I sincerely appreciate you taking the time to leave me such a detailed reply, especially regarding a topic as ‘deep’ as this one. I found your perspective interesting on various levels.

I think this is quite right. Practically, I don’t believe it’s possible for us to neatly separate the two understandings of the world. Elements of each permeate both perspectives, both in our daily lives and in political and economic policies/programs. As you imply, each one of us likely leans to one side more than another.
