The older I get, the more committed I become to speaking from the heart and to not shying away from expressing my admiration and appreciation for others. The possibility that I might miss out on the chance to tell somebody how much much they mean to me, whether personally or professionally, leads me to be quite upfront these days with my thoughts and feelings. Life can change in an instant: whether it’s a positive celebration of another person’s accomplishments, a simple expression of gratitude for somebody’s help, or a difficult conversation that’s long past due, we should always act sooner rather than later — at least that’s how I typically see things.
