Thanks for taking the time to share your honest thoughts, Aryn.

As I see it, one of the most attractive characteristics of running a blog today is that readers are free to pick and choose which content they will and will not consume.

If you take a look at my Medium profile, you will see that the majority of my articles are quite lengthy. I have thus far elected to publish in-depth, thoughtful pieces every so often rather than to create short, unremarkable posts on a daily or weekly basis.

I agree, without reservation, that some people who would otherwise engage with my content don’t do so precisely because they are discouraged by the length of my posts.

Nevertheless, I’m consciously not writing for everybody on the Internet.

I aim to attract a specific audience with my Medium posts, i.e., those who have the time and desire to “sit with” and “work through” complex ideas for extended periods of time.

Slowly, carefully, and methodically: that’s how I think, write, and read — people who possess these same attributes are also likely those who will find my content most beneficial.

I plan to start using other platforms and forms of expression (e.g., audio and video) to express some of my ideas in a more condensed form going forward.

If you’re interested, please see what else I say about this matter here.

Incidentally, I disagree with your implicit suggestion that this article — or any other my Medium essays — can be accurately characterized as “venting”.

Although I might have ultimately “failed to deliver”, I have endeavoured here to provide a reasoned and detailed critical analysis, rather than a frustration-fueled and haphazardly delivered bit of venting.

Cheers :)
