Thanks for your thoughts, Sam! It’s great to hear your Facebook group has become a real community!

I tend to post short comments on Facebook and long comments on Medium. Because one of my goals is to grow my Medium account and to attract attention to my writing, I believe it’s important to engage on the platform as much as possible. I can’t say for certain, but I imagine the Medium algorithm is set to reward stories that generate lots of conversation (via comments). Medium, obviously, wants to keep readers on the platform and so it’d make sense for high-comment stories to perform better than low-comment stories, ceteris paribus.
